description
Home to a handful of NFL history’s most quietly-elite pass-catchers, James Lofton used 1982’s NFC Divisional Round to illustrate why he stood at No. 1 on the Packers’ receiving yardage leaderboards by career’s end. Knowing the endzone to be only six yards away, Lofton — 6-foot-3, with a revered reputation as one of the game’s great athletes — left a Cowboys defender in the dust on a slant route before absorbing a go-ahead touchdown. In between breakaway reverse runs and highlight snags, Green Bay’s future Hall of Famer concluded with a five-catch, 109-yard, one-touchdown afternoon, alongside a one-carry, 71-yard, one-touchdown complement, marking a valiant effort in Jan. 16, 1983’s 37-26 loss to Dallas.
