New York quarterback Phil Simms put together what would stand as one of the most impressive passing performances in Super Bowl history when his Giants met the Broncos in Super Bowl XXI. Completing 88% of his 25 pass attempts, Simms threw for 268 yards and three touchdowns, leading an efficient Giants attack that left the Denver defnese in shambles. Ultimately, New York would prevail in this one behind Simms' legendary performance, beating the Broncos 39-20 to win the title on Jan. 25, 1987.
