In this matchup between Kansas City and Cleveland to open the 2002 NFL Season, superstar Chiefs running back Priest Holmes put together an unforgettable performance. After scoring once in the first half, it was the fourth quarter of this chaotic, back-and-forth affair where Holmes truly made his mark on the day. Holmes scored from 26 yards out on a draw, and just one minute later found the end zone again from 15 yards out to give Kansas City the lead. Then, after the Chiefs had fallen behind again, he scored once more, giving them a one-point lead with three minutes to go. The two teams would trade field goals in the final 30 seconds of action, with the Chiefs ultimately prevailing 40-39 in this instant classic on Sept. 8, 2002. Holmes would finish with 122 yards on the ground and four scores, while also adding six catches.
