Panthers defensive lineman Mike Rucker was a menace against the Vikings offense in this matchup during the early part of the 2022 NFL Season, disrupting the rhythm of the passing game early and often. In the second quarter, he got to the quarterback, knocking the ball free just as the passer was about to release the ball, causing a fumble. Later, his pressure as he chased down the quarterback as he attempted to scramble resulted in another loose ball, which bounced out of bounds. Rucker was credited with six tackles, three sacks, and two forced fumbles in this one, as the Panthers beat the Vikings, 21-14, on Sept. 22, 2002.
