description
In a game appropriately dubbed 'The Freezer Bowl', quarterback Ken Anderson and the Bengals faced a tall task in trying to throw the football in the coldest conditions ever recorded in an NFL game. Somehow, though, Anderson persevered, tossing two touchdown passes, one from eight yards out in the first quarter, and another three-yard scoring toss in the fourth to ice the game. All told, Anderson braved the -9°F temperature and high winds to throw for 161 yards and two scores, leading Cincinnati to the Super Bowl by winning this matchup with the Chargers, 27-7, on Jan. 10, 1982.
