In a classic back-and-forth shootout between the Lions and Vikings, Detroit quarterback Scott Mitchell dropped back to pass, waited a beat for his guys to get downfield, and then fired a ball down the right sideline. His receiver leaped up to make the grab before crossing the goal line for the score, the fourth touchdown pass for Mitchell on the day. All told, Mitchell would throw for a career-high 410 yards on the day, tossing four touchdowns, as the Lions beat Minnesota, 44-38, on Nov. 23, 1995.
