Though his days as a focal point of the Patriots offense were mostly behind him, receiver Troy Brown never ceased to be incredibly valuable as a versatile football player, and when the need arose during the 2004 NFL Season, Brown made himself available at a new position: defensive back. Lined up as a slot corner in this game against the Bills, Brown showed off the hands that made him so reliable on the other side of the ball, picking off this overthrown pass and returning it 17 yards for the first interception of his NFL career, and the first of three he would wind up with that season. Brown also caught two passes for 23 yards in this one, helping the Patriots to a 29-6 win over the Bills on Nov. 14, 2004.
