The opposing quarterback was dropping back and getting set to pass on this play in Super Bowl XXXVIII, but Patriots outside linebacker Mike Vrabel got there before the ball could be released, hitting the quarterback from his blind spot and knocking the ball free to cause a fumble. A teammate recovered the ball to complete the turnover, and a few plays later, the New England offense got in the end zone to put the first points of the game on the board. Vrabel did it all in this one, tallying six tackles, two sacks, one forced fumble, and even catching a late touchdown pass, as the Patriots beat the Panthers, 32-29, to win their second title in three years in this memorable matchup on Feb. 1, 2004.
