For any Broncos player asked to throw downfield, there’s one strategy that’s often worked wonders over the last eight seasons: sending the football in the direction of 6-foot-4 star Courtland Sutton. During a trick play that connected two of the most prolific pass-catchers in Denver’s franchise history, Sutton put his gifts on worldwide display, diving to the turf on a 28-yard, receiver-to-receiver touchdown sequence. The marquee play was all Sutton needed to make his impact in a 45-10 win over the Arizona Cardinals on Oct. 18, 2018. By year’s end, he settled among the elite first-timers in receiving yardage (704), third-most among rookies.
