After a long offseason of planning, plotting, and envisioning the moment itself, perhaps nothing sparks an offense’s creativity quite like Week 1 of the NFL season. During their closely-contested season opener in the Bayou, Kyler Murray and the Cardinals put that statement on illustration. First came a 25-yard, middle-of-the-field strike to Trey McBride — a seasonlong source of excellence that Arizona used to the fullest — followed by an 11-yarder to the statement-making Marvin Harrison Jr. Exclamation arrived just a few plays later on 2nd & Goal, as Arizona used a play-action shovel pass trick play to James Conner that left New Orleans’ defense flummoxed. The go-ahead, 10-play, 71-yard drive eventually helped springboard the Cards past the Saints for a 20-13 win, and a 1-0 record on Sept. 7, 2025.
