18-point, second-half holes are certainly daunting, but as the NFL world learned during Dec. 4, 2025’s Thursday Night Football game, they aren’t impossible to overcome when Dak Prescott and the Cowboys’ second-ranked passing attack are in play. Midway through the fourth — with Dallas merely one big play shy of trimming the deficit to just three — Prescott made the magic happen against Detroit’s busted coverage, hitting his playmaking wideout for a 42-yard touchdown pass. A complete comeback would fall just short in a 44-30 loss to the Lions, but in one of this season’s highest-scoring shootouts, Prescott was well-prepared, throwing for 376 yards (on 31-of-47) and a touchdown.
