Running backs won’t often prevail in one-on-four situations with defenders at every turn — but when they do, the highlight thereafter is often one for the ages. Seemingly in “no man’s land,” with could-be tacklers and the out-of-bounds line sandwiching him along the left sideline, Detroit’s Kevin Jones joined a rare class of running backs, fusing speed, a blur-quick stutter-step, and raw determination into his 23-yard run. The former first-round Lions tailback ran hard throughout the 37-26 loss to the Green Bay Packers, and such efforts made him a must-see on both highlight reels and box scores, as he recorded a 22-touch, 120-yard, one-touchdown afternoon on Nov. 22, 2007.
