Determined to put a close on what had become an eight-game win drought on Oct. 5, 2025, the Saints found a much-needed refreshment in a most poetic form: Kool-Aid McKinstry’s game-changing presence. In winning the afternoon’s battle against New York’s first-year quarterback, McKinstry hustled his way into two interceptions, the first of which arriving on a touchdown-saving, over-the-shoulder snag in the fourth quarter. Finding his “clutch gene” tested again just minutes later, New Orleans’ talented defensive back turned the Giants’ route miscommunication into an acrobatic play, giving him interception No. 2. Eventually named the NFC’s Player of the Week, McKinstry’s final tally included: a 53.7 passer rating when targeted (on nine attempts), two interceptions, three passes defended, four tackles, and a 26-14 win.
