It took until Week 12 of the 2000 season for Saints quarterback Aaron Brooks, a fourth round selection in the 1999 NFL Draft, to see meaningful action, but he immediately made good on his opportunity. Entering the game in the second quarter, Brooks dropped back to pass, pump faked left, and then fired his first career pass attempt deep down the left sideline. The ball was caught, the receiver evaded a couple defenders, and then dashed into the end zone for a 53-yard score. Brooks went on to throw for 187 yards and two scores in this one, as New Orleans fell to the Saints, 31-22, on Nov. 19, 2000.
